Charged per person and per night, according to the room charge and service charge per person per night, excluding meals and consumption tax.

Worked examples
Two adults, 3 nights from 15 October 2026, any accommodation in kyoto city, ¥24,000 a night:¥2,400.
- ¥12,000 per person per night (room charge and service charge per person per night, excluding meals and consumption tax) → ¥400 per person per night.
- 2 guests × 3 nights.
A family of two adults and two children aged 7 and 15, 12 nights, same accommodation:¥19,200.
- ¥6,000 per person per night (room charge and service charge per person per night, excluding meals and consumption tax) → ¥400 per person per night.
- 4 guests × 12 nights.

- If you paid the tax to a booking site or travel agent, you do not pay it again at the property.
