      Two adults, 3 nights from 15 October 2026, any hotel, ryokan, simple lodging or minpaku in sapporo, ¥24,000 a night:¥1,800.

      • ¥12,000 per person per night (lodging charge per person per night) → ¥200 per person per night.
      • 2 guests × 3 nights.
      • ¥12,000 per person per night (lodging charge per person per night) → ¥100 per person per night.
      • 2 guests × 3 nights.

      A family of two adults and two children aged 7 and 15, 12 nights, same accommodation:¥14,400.

      • ¥6,000 per person per night (lodging charge per person per night) → ¥200 per person per night.
      • 4 guests × 12 nights.
      • ¥6,000 per person per night (lodging charge per person per night) → ¥100 per person per night.
      • 4 guests × 12 nights.

      Exemptions

      • Children and students on school trips or school events (except universities), children aged 3+ on nursery or kindergarten outings, and their chaperones.

      Good to know

      • Both taxes started on 1 April 2026 and apply to stays from that night, even if booked earlier. Totals: ¥300 under ¥20,000, ¥400 from ¥20,000 to under ¥50,000, ¥1,000 from ¥50,000.
