Worked examples
Two adults, 3 nights from 15 October 2026, any licensable tourist accommodation (hotel, guest house, holiday flat):€9.00.
- €1.50 per person per night.
- 2 guests at the full rate, 3 taxed nights.
A family of two adults and two children aged 7 and 15, 12 nights, same accommodation:€36.00.
- €1.50 per person per night.
- 2 guests at the full rate, 2 exempt, 12 taxed nights.
Exemptions
- Guests under 18 at the start of the visit (proof of age may be asked).
Good to know
- From 1 July 2026: €1.50 per night per person aged 18 or over, capped at €22.50 per person per visit (so nights beyond the 15th are free). Until 30 June 2026 it was €0.50 a night, capped at €5.
